a hidden sacred site

Went to Ashdown Forest with Stuart on Saturday to view a natural sacred site he has discovered. On the forest footpath you wouldn’t know it was there. I was speechless when I came upon it. He was waiting to see the look on my face! A vast area of rocky outcrop with ancient trees growing from crevices. A massive beech had grown into seven trees from one hidden root. An old yew was clinging to a rock face. The rocks formed round a deep hidden massive pit like a ceremonial meeting place. Some of the rocks had markings carved in them. Under some of the outcrops are natural caves where one can crawl into the recess and be encased in womb-like caverns, with sweet-smelling layers of wind-blown dried leaves. Lying prostrate on my front within the cool, dark rock on layers of leaf was a truly profound experience which I will never forget. Ancient land of Albion, with your hidden mysteries. How could I possibly belong anywhere else?

About forfedha

I never know what title to give myself. Basically I am an Earthkeeper, I guess. My objective is to share my discoveries and beliefs with others. I connect with trees and Earth energies, teach Celtic Earth Magic, Tarot and Munay-Ki, and honour the ancient ways as much as resonates with me. Always searching, forever marvelling at the gifts I am given. That's it really.

Hi Lorna, it’s a bit too wild for an organized wallk, but we could go there. I don’t really want to show too many people either. Good to hear from you xxx
